Matcha Latte

A calming, antioxidant-rich drink that provides sustained energy without the crash. Matcha has been used in Zen Buddhist practice for centuries to support meditation and mindfulness.

Matcha Latte

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder
  • 2 tbsp hot water (not boiling, ~175°F)
  • 1 cup warm milk of choice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup
  • Pinch of cardamom (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1.Sift matcha powder into a bowl or mug to remove clumps.
  2. 2.Add 2 tablespoons of hot water (not boiling) and whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk or frother until a smooth paste forms.
  3. 3.Warm your milk of choice and froth it.
  4. 4.Pour the frothed milk over the matcha paste.
  5. 5.Stir in vanilla and honey. Dust with cardamom if desired.
